Bolt-On Horsepower and Torque
42 Draft Designs 3” downpipe is the single most effective bolt-on upgrade for the Mk4 Volkswagen 1.8T. No other basic physical modification can compete with the power gains delivered by this fundamental upgrade. Simply by reducing backpressure we’re able to create usable horsepower and torque throughout the power band while also improving turbo spool and throttle response.
Fabricated here in the USA, our exclusive downpipe for the 1.8T engine installs without permanent modification. Precise pipe routing and a stainless steel flex section assure hassle-free fitment.
Downpipes are equipped with a 400/cell high-flow catalytic converter. Included adapter reduces pipe size to utilize the OEM band clamp. Additional cat-back adapter sizes are available.
FITMENT INFORMATION
This downpipe is known to fit the following vehicles:
- Professional installation is highly recommended.
- 1999-2005 VW Mk4 Golf, Jetta, GTI
- 1998-2010 VW New Beetle 1.8T
- 2000-2006 Audi TT 180 FWD
- Included adaptor allows fitment to stock exhaust
- Will fit any cat-back exhaust that reduces to stock diameter
Vehicle MUST be equipped with OEM Audi TT 225 exhaust manifold and K04-020, K04-021, or K04-023 turbocharger. Fitment with aftermarket turbocharger or exhaust manifold is NOT supported.

From design to manufacturing we never rush, cut corners, or take shortcuts.
